It was the Tories who gave these contracts out to companies and people who've become wealthy as a result.

And Badenoch has just lied about the reasons for her choice to leave the ECHR, using the same excuse as Farage: stopping the boats, stopping illegal immigrants. Or, unlike Farage, does she not know the ECHR has had no impact on their "illegal immigration " who are actually asylum seekers?

Muhammad Ziauddin Usuf, to give him his full name:his version makes him appear less or non Muslim, perhaps; said Reform will cut tax but only after they've paid off the National Debt. So, there will be tax rises but for whom? What's the betting it won't be those who can best afford it?

Surely the previous decisions regarding Andrew were made by the Queen and it was always only a matter of time before the King made his brother an "ordinary member of the public" which, in turn leave him open to investigation and possible trial and conviction in the USA and UK.

Wouldn't that be up to the USA where Epstein and Maxwell were put on trial? Presumably, now, if the USA wanted to proceed with prosecution they'd go through the usual extradition procedures, get Andrew to the States, and try him there. The ball is in their court now.

No. The business of dealing with all issues must be undertaken and all must be publicised.

I believe it's what was in the manifesto. Those whose asylum claims fail to be returned or sent to another place if safety. The deportations of foreign nationals has been lax under the Tories and needed tightening up, to be seen taking place. Lies of nothing's being done, needs to be put to rest

I, originally took him to be referring to the division Farage, Yaxley-Lennon and co were causing. The them and us divisive rhetoric was putting us at 'risk of becoming an island of strangers'; and I remember Enoch Powell's speech.

I would strongly urge Starmer to stop responding to the racist brigade and just get on with dealing with small boat arrivals and immigration as intended but ensuring that deportations, etc are regularly publicised and spoken about. Proaction is always better than reaction.

I remember TV interviews with Pakistanis, some who came here following India's independence and partition, also voting for Brexit, not just because they believed an influx of Turks was imminent but also because they didn't want anymore people coming to live and work here!!

One very poor choice of words is nothing compared to to the onslaught of anti-immigrant rhetoric and downright racist lies that Musk's X and other social media is full of. The hate emanating from the cult like followers of Reform, Rupert Lowe, Yaxley-Lennon hate knows no bounds.

Why do you call it 'artificial outrage'? Is it because it, quite rightly, won't get anywhere?

29.10.2025 12:26 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Yes. Lived with Trickle vents for over 30 years and no damp, condensation or mould anywhere. Have a small window which is open all night, every night, in my bedroom and, when needed, in the kitchen and bathroom.

Surely it's the landlord's responsibility to install adequate ventilation. Eg Bathroom and Kitchen at least. I have vents as part of my window frames which are usually permanently open in the bathroom and kitchen: the exception being extremely cold weather or strong cold wind, then opened as needed

The mere sight or sound of that man makes my skin crawl.

Pochin's statement was about ads 'full of black people, full of Asian people, full of anything but white people '(her exact words). Definitely racist. Philp's inability to call it what is was tells you everything you need to know about him.

Possibly because Labour held a council seat and it doesn't fit what appears to be an anti - Labour agenda.

That didn't work well for the Tories. Foolish idea so early in this Labour government. Labour (hold) won a Colchester, Essex city council by-election on Thursday. The LibDems came 2nd with Reform, 3rd.

Typo: 'milliona' should be millions.

Zia Yusuf told Newsnight that Farage intended to be there for the announcement of the Reform win. He spent his screen time dementedly adamant that Reform would win. Imagine the delight of milliona when that didn't happen ๐Ÿฅณ

Well, Trump did say that the sound of the demolition of part of the White House to build his very expensive ballroom sounded 'like money to me.' Money is all that interests him. Even his much desired Nobel Peace Prize would have given him $1.2million.

25.10.2025 14:20 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Farage is not, nor has he ever been, a politician. He's a nuisance, an agitatator: his only purpose is personal gain and publicity. He must be positively gleeful that his dangerous mischief has gathered so many cult-like followers and the division he's caused.

25.10.2025 13:36 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Isn't that the Council, whose Reform Leader threw a sweary hssy fit during a video conference call? Surely she must go, as well.

They were technically 'private visits' so Trump and Vance should pay. Send the bill to Trump, who will, as is normal for him, ignore it or refuse to pay.

While I will, respectfully, continue to disagree. There is an undergrounding process which is less harmful, quicker and cost effective. I live in sight of where some of these 50m tall monsters will be and am fully aware of the damage they will inflict on farmland and ancient woods, etc

ESO cost analysis, in March 2024, concluded that HVDC underground cabling in East Anglia could be a comparable or potentially cheaper alternative to new pylons when factoring in the long-term costs of system operation.

Cable ploughing. ATV can do this with 400kv, the same capacity as proposed between N2T. They've been replacing cables carried via pylons in areas such as the Dunstable Downs. It's cheaper, quicker and less damaging than trenching which is intended for a few areas rather than pylons.

In this instance, he's wrong. An offshore grid is the logical way to transport offshore energy and to bring it closer to where it's required. It's also been proved that undergrounding isn't more expensive than pylons and that it's now the better option than pylons.

Nadine Dorries embarrassing herself yet again in her adoration of Trump, solely responsible for bringing peace to Gaza. It's all thanks to Trump and no one else; completely ignoring the input of Arab nations and the stance taken by almost every country.
