Dude fr the other day I found a UK hoverfly id guide and it was absurd, some species you can only distinguish based on thoraxical morphology so tiny you can only see it with a microscope. Entomology are no joke. I've been recommended to avoid species ID and just stop at genus

Insect id is honestly insanely difficult. My bet is on phyllobius mostly because polydrusus has a longer snout, thinner antennae, and are more green than bright cyan. But I'd need a wiwi expert to be sure, and wiwi experts are as rare as bright blue wiwis themselves
