@cloudflare.social @cloudflare-dev.bsky.social could you do something about RSS feeds that your blog users have you host / manage, so that they don't get put behind a captcha or bot detector? there's not much point in RSS if it can't be accessed programatically. I'm seeing this a lot more lately.

quite the hate mob you've roused, if it was any other topic I'd assume it was bots, from the level and similarity of replies.

woohoo - quarto team added RSS feeds to be on by default going forward - brilliant work! I think a lot of people had unwittingly created their blogs and not realised that RSS was off by default.

I don't see any positive applications of Sora 2, and the direction of creating a social network powered by it seems to confirm the intent here. The engineering is incredible, but we're opening pandoras box here without any obvious upside.

Sort of tangential, but as a general principal, publicly funded research really should be prohibited from publishing in closed access journals.

What advice would you give to someone in their twenties who wants to build a secure tech career?

build strong fundamentals in software, maths, CS or whatever underpins the area you are in. optimise for learning when you choose where to work - find smart people to work with / for. not sure whose quote it is, but I like "find work where you know 50% and learn the rest like crazy".

This was actually a bug, searches were being limited to the last month. Now you get a few much better matches for ellmer. Let me know if there are any posts you would expect to see for this that don't appear though!

Yeah it's not keyword search, it's using embeddings, so you might need to describe it a bit. But once you get a decent hit, you can click 'similar posts'

I gave an #rstats example, but you can use it to search a lot of things. The blog index is pretty big at this point at least 40k.
