The approaching park does rule yes.

It really serves as a contrast to show how much the two long slabs of meaningless concrete just blocking views sucks.

This isn't meant as any disrespect to brutalism or Louis Kahn, who had some bangers. But the FDR memorial on Roosevelt island was not a banger, it was just bad.

I'm going to be honest. It doesn't look any worse than the original memorial, which already got an F and did nothing but block views from the island with long boring slabs of concrete.

A very rare memorial that imo should be torn down not due to any disrespect to FDR but just because it's bad art.

I think this makes it better than the other common option of making the posts just not appear for the user.

But putting it under hidden would seem to be a nearly pareto efficient solution.

with high interest loans that we actually profit from, and have conditions attached like getting Milei to stop stupid currency conversion stuff.

Instead we are doing stupid currency exchange stuff of our own.

I've gotten a lotta hate on here for (still rightly in my view) saying that we Dems should actually support a bailout for Argentina as we should relentlessly support the US's position as lender of last resort to democracies.

But a bailout should have happened after not before Argentinian elections,

By doing it the dumbest way possible, by just buying Argentinian pesos instead of doing something sane like buying high interest US dollar denominated Argentinian bonds. I think the Treasury can make currency exchanges whenever it wants basically. But buying these bonds is just burning funds.

This is so interesting.

The following feed would seem easier to a noob like me, but it is in fact a bit of a technological wonder that it exists.

Claude can see our full post history, so no questions I can ask Grace that Claude would not also know.

Grace can also use the Internet and is very capable, so no questions I can ask Claude that Grace would not also know.

We have passed the Turing test.

What's a good question that I can ask to determine whether this is Grace or Claude?

Raising residency slots and increasing residency pay, while decreasing pay after residency, really seems like the ideal option. It would greatly reduce the number of hours she has to work right now. It is also what would naturally happen if the number of slots weren't heavily reduced by past

50% by rightly allowing nurse practitioners to do more work and creating more doctor training slots. A massive shortage of doctor training slots leads to insane work requirements - resulting in high suicides and crashes among young doctors.

I will say that I do actually support this. Surgeons have an extremely tough job that few people could hope to ever perform (certainly not me) and they do deserve to be rich for all of the training and difficulty they have to get through.

But they would still be extremely rich if salaries fell

I'm legitimately terrified that a major journalist fell for this AI video.

And I'm equally terrified that I fell for it at first too.

I nominate Romeo and Juliet, the pair of central park coyotes so named because they occasionally hang out at the theater, as hog and rat czars.
