Reading the headline, the article would piss me off. Paying the the welfare state pays off, if done right and fully. Healthier happy population w/ lower crime & social disorder. What we can't afford is the excessive corporate welfare & bitching about problems caused by underfunding the welfare state

Today I was talking to a lawyer and explaining that a client was taken to hospital on a form 10 and I completely forgot the word "admitted". Instead I said, "they took him to hospital and he was captured".

80s and 90s drove Datsun 620, Mazda B2000 and B2200s, Nissan's. My 76 Datsun 620 King Cab could fit way more in the bed than any standard current pick up. Right now the smallest truck is the Maverick, w/ hybrid next is the Santa Cruz no hybrid. Was in South Africa last year & amazed at the tiny Utes

well right now I have no idea. I was for Gondek, next would be Thiessen, he is part of a "party" and I don't support parties in municipal politics. I guess it is back to the research. sigh

Farkus is a performative politician. When he was on council he was a constant ass and has tie to the UCP. When he lost he went walk about and acted like he'd changed with very little actions to back it up. Like Poilievre, he acts like politics a game and doesn't understand governance.

I'm still pretty annoyed at the arena deal that looks sketchy as hell but was going to vote for her as the evil we know and at least she is independent. This shows she has lost the plot and can't really be considered "progressive" any more. Now what?!

What is frightening, in Alberta Social Workers (many working in child welfare) are regulated by the government. The regulation is managed by 50% public members 50% social work members of the college. If the government past policies like this again they could force social workers to do this again.

Interesting, he is technically the head of the military is he not? So that should give them jurisdiction. (I have absolutely no experience with US law, military or other)

But add to that, if the vote is to separate, I will fight with my life to keep us in canada

The organizer is a former con and they can't be trusted that is true. But performative or not asking the question this way will have a better chance of success. So many Albertans don't pay attention or give a shit. The referendum will happen and we could have an accidental win for separatists.

30.09.2025 03:18 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The problem is there will be a referendum whether we like it or not. Smith will make sure of that. Having control over the question will be key to framing this in a positive light. Smith change the rules after this one was approved to make it easier for the other side to get theirs question in.
