i'm still not quite walking correctly, i have to constantly vary my foot strike (heel strike -> "normal" -> ball strike -> "normal" -> ...) or my left foot starts hurting. but now I know for sure it's a hip problem, so single-leg hip thrusts should help a lot

my right side works fine, my left side does not. after a minute of jogging, my left foot (and only my left foot) hurts. i haven't been sedentary for 10 years, it's just that my right side has been compensating for the malfunctioning left side. probably going to take years to work out this imbalance

"maintain proper form for walking?" yeah well it turns out if you sit in front of a computer for 12 hours a day for 25 years it can really do a number on your body. i'm not even in good enough shape to *start* couch to 5k (because I can't walk correctly, let alone jog)

i think i figured out how to walk properly again. it only took me 10 years to realize that I needed to buy zero drop shoes and then very slowly walk 2-3 miles every day for weeks, focusing on maintaining proper form. i hope that i can soon (next year?) run a mile for the first time in 16 years

for dynamical systems, there probably isn't a better introduction. for control theory, you're going to need a different book

this has been happening for years. I previously expected that the AI video people would eventually figure out how to fix this, but apparently the AI-generated VIMS sufferers are such a minority of the population that they're not trying to fix it (maybe not even aware of the problem)

apparently one of my superpowers is that almost every AI-generated video gives me motion sickness. so I have a pretty reliable algorithm for detecting AI videos:

1. watch video
2. wait for nausea (it usually doesn't take long!)
