My point is, it;s not just his shrinking # of "fans" supporting him (they aren't, look at the special election in La. last night) it's a subsevient, knob-slobbering press corps(e).

Yes! I remember the first time I got a tour - the chambers are much smaller than they appear on TV, which made it even more apparent to me how few of these guys are actually in the room doing their jobs on any given day 🙄

I have occasionally entertained the possibility that they are "exchanging" these votes for some future concessions - the details of which we are not currently aware - but I fully accept that may be cope/wishful thinking on my part.

That is true, but what I am thinking is more - they will leave behind things that will need to be eradicated in order for us to move forward - above and beyond the damage they are currently, visibly doing. I think it will be a huge job, on top of getting them out in the first place

But we are long past due for an overhaul. Sometimes you have to burn down and rebuild. I think we will succeed, but it's going to cost a lot. 😫

Another facet is - my *personal politics* are very much leftist, but my *practical politics* are not, because I have never been offered a legitimate choice that would both support my personal politics and NOT harm overall social/political progress. People generally don't get how these things work.

I live in a state that was gerrymandered before I was old enough to vote. You probably aren't going to see massive visible protests bc at this point they accomplish less than organizing, getting local pct chairs and election day observers trained, etc. It's not as simple as it looks on TV.
