That 2021-22 strikerless season looks like a fever dream now:
De Bruyne 15
Sterling 13
Mahrez 11
Foden 9
Jesus 8
Gundogan 8
Silva 8
Rodri 7
Laporte 4
Grealish 3
Torres 2
Ake 2
Dias 2
Fernandinho 2
Stones 1
Cancelo 1
In retrospect, selling Julian Alvarez, after not fully replacing scoring wider contributors like Sterling, Mahrez, Aguero etc. looks a little reliant on Haaland.
Foden, De Bruyne, Rodri, Gundogan, Silva all aren't contributing like yesteryear for various reasons.
He's taking up a bigger slice of the pie, and that's partly due to a dip in goalscoring form from other big contributors of prior seasons, injuries, or just older players starting to decline in output.

xG tables after GW 13

Crazy disparity
Found this out doing a monstrous table of xG, overall home and away. Enjoy.
01.12.2024 00:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Brentfordβs home record: P7 W6 D1 L0
xG/90 for 2.38, against 1.30 (+1.08)
Brentfordβs away record: P6 W0 D1 L5
xG/90 for 0.76, against 2.02 (-1.26)
Most of their harder fixtures have come away from home, and it's early season, but still quite funny/stark.
According to the Premier League's website, Crystal Palace 1-1 Newcastle was a 1.29-0.02 xG game

With that squad 16th is not a dramatic underperformance.
Personally don't think Underhill dropped the second, but if you were inclined to support Japan you could make arguments against both.

That is a lovely first try from England with Smith getting the pass away quickly - looked pretty forward/like Ollie Lawrence had marginally overran it as Austin Healey suggested on comms, though.

The making of coach Ruben Amorim - from mopping third-tier floors to a Sporting war zone.
Went to Lisbon to speak to childhood friends, former players and coaches to find out how a manager under 40 has already become such a transformational figure.
