It took forever and I'm not 100% satisfied with how it turned out but done is done. Also an introduction to a trick I had planned on Ara and Rev using later in the comic, but figured I might as well throw it in now.

In case anyone's wondering what level of emotional stability/maturity I've reached at the age of 34, I just watched the first Sumikko Gurashi movie with my wife and spent the last 10-20 minutes of the movie actively sobbing and laughing at myself for doing so.

Also since I'm posting so much random shit today here's some progress:

I remember the silly edited version of Dobkeratops on the US cover of Super R-Type freaking me out in the video store as a kid, but if this version made it to the US boxart it would've actively given me nightmares.

This is one of my all-time favorite game covers/artwork. It portrays a sense of scale and dread that embodies the R-Type universe so well. The games are cartoony and arcade-y but the story and lore are peak cosmic horror.

I just wanna listen to Steve Vai and draw comics but my brain and body are working together to kick my ass today.

Donkey Kong Bananza is a legit masterpiece. I can't believe the ride I just went on through the finale, and the postgame is already surprising me with it's teasing of more story.
It's consistently blown away my expectations over the course of the game.

Nothing like drawing a killer hand close-up for a panel and then realizing you drew the wrong hand.

Slowing back down a bit but still trying to stay consistent.
In the old WOE Rev used a technique called the Megaton Palm, which I want to rename. Haven't given much thought to what to change it to yet. (I also want to rename Megaton Nine.)

It's not like I need traffic on the main site, I don't run ads and never will. It's there for people who want to catch up on the entire story, but I feel like posting the actual pages here on bsky when they drop would be better for actually getting passersby interested in WOE.

Y'know, I've always had this habit of posting panels and linking to the main comic site instead of just like, posting the full comic page on social media when I finish a new one.

The more I think about it, the more I'm like, why not just post full pages here too?

My most and least favorite part of my brain is the ever-growing and constant desire to enjoy more and more hobbies. I love loving things. I love wanting to experience everything.
There's just not enough time in a person's life to do it all. To create it all and experience it all. It's bittersweet.

The Monkey Gods have blessed me with the first day in weeks that isn't either swelteringly hot or a thunderous downpour. Perfect weather to walk out and grab a copy of Donkey Kong.

I doubt I'll ever draw Rev consistently. I can't even draw characters with normal faces consistently. But he looks a lot cooler than he did in the old comic at least.

Update tonight.

Got a proper 8 hours of sleep for the first time in ages. Waking up this morning my brain felt supercharged but my body felt like it was hit by a train. My bones aren't used to being at rest for that long lmao

I'll update WOE again this week, and once again trying to slap myself back awake to draw more consistently instead of the incredibly slow slog the last several weeks have been.
Life's been busy, and the world around us is terrifying and stressful in this country, but I want to draw, dammit.
