21.11.2024 12:47 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0You're not wrong.
But I think it's an easier break when you either have little or a lot and a drive to post.
Public social media has always felt very disengenuous to me and the drive to post hard to summon.
Realistically, it's also still where most people are, but it gets better all the time!
Aye! Fingers crossed!
13.11.2024 13:43 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Take yourself and your craft less seriously. Let people in/yourself out.
Engage. Have fun.
We're all equals wanting to love/be loved and the faรงades of status we erect to divide us and give ourselves permission to look down on others are shallow and fleeting.
The art and the connections aren't.
People won't have to behave so artificially or repress themselves if they feel like they can create in your space and that you admire and respect something unique they bring instead of looking down on them for being something or somewhere you're not.
13.11.2024 13:30 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0And that starts with us and how we see and treat people.
The best experiences I've had have been where both myself and the person I'm working with are in awe of and enjoying each other's unique creativity.
Start having fun. Stop thinking of it as a game. Treat others as part of your canvas.
Genuine connection without pretension is hard to come by professionally.
I've been lucky to work with people that are miles above me in terms of success/recognition, but they've still gushed over and been excited to work with me.
It's just so ludicrous that this isn't a standard in creative media.
And ultimately who is it all for?
We struggle so that we can create.
Success allows more opportunity.
We do it for ourselves and to please others.
So, why does the struggle and success both make us so selfish to real connection?
Why do we let ourselves treat the process in such an empty way.
Pain and frustrations aren't vocalized and hidden away.
People become obsessed with clinging to others "just in case", real connections fall by the wayside.
Then, a taste of success can make it extremely easy to start seeing people as lesser or easier to ignore or to blend into the social scenery.
And the truth is, we're all struggling in that sense.
People don't often say what they really mean or feel.
Resentment and jealousy manifests as unhealthy levels of performative wholesome or behavior or selfless support for fear of rejection and social blacklisting.
I think it's difficult to be vulnerable as a public figure/professional, however small.
There's this pressure to always portray yourself as successful, held together and moving forward.
People are quickly turned off by demonstrations of self-pity.
It shouldn't really be that way, but it is.
๐ I would love to completely switch from Twitter to here.
I just lament the loss of the followers/audience.
How are you all?
