Sometimes I feel like this entire political situation is gaslighting so many of us. Like, I go and talk to coworkers, and they treat our current political situation like it's just your typical electoral swing, and I feel like maybe I'm the insane one.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

People: "I don't want politics in my Final Fantasy."

Democracy requires decency.

Our democracy is devolving because we neglected to demand common decency of the most powerful individual in our country; the President.

I lived with my dad when I was very young and he didn’t apply for food stamps or free school lunches, though we qualified.

So, I went hungry. It was awful. I begged neighbors for saltine crackers. I can say it was the worst time of my life.

Children shouldn’t go hungry. Restore SNAP benefits.

I'm always very open about the fact that I received SNAP benefits and Medicaid for a bit after I fled my abusive husband with my little kid in tow. I used it to help me start over in a new state and go back to school to get my BA. I now have a PhD.

Not just writers. A lot of people are self employed or working multiple part time jobs. With the way our economy has changed, losing the ACA would be crippling for many.

I generally prefer stylized visuals because you can go back to them multiple gaming generations later and they still look good.

I watched a video recently talking about the most important part of resistance is everyone just doing a little more. It doesn't seem like much on an individual level, but it adds up.

I like this philosophy. Sure, I'll engage with songs, games, books, movies, etc. that just don't work for me, but I'm not going to spend all my time and energy telling people how much I hate it. I'm going to focus on what I love.
