I HAVE TO MAKE THIS CLEAR: THIS METHOD IS EXTREMLY DIFFICULT AND REQUIRED A LOT OF SAMPLING FROM THEIR ORIGINAL SYNTHS/SAMPLERS, CAREFUL TRANSCRIPTION FROM THE ORIGINAL PIECE.
WITH LIMITED RAM THAT PS1 CAN PROVIDE THIS IS ACTUALLY INSANE THAT THEY MANAGED TO PULL THIS OFF.
So the audio programmers did a really risky move to replicate the BGM into a sequenced format using Sony's Psy-Q Audio Capabilities and load them inside RAM.
While the streamed audio will be played directly from the CD as XA Audio Stream.
Yes, I'm fully aware of the superior XA version of the audio. But the sequenced audio is actually used for the cutscenes, due to the limitation of the XA format, one channel has to be sacrificed for VOX channel.

The audio programmers were probably didn't have the time to double check the MIDI programming.

Everything was done manually via hex editing and file conversion from Sony PlayStation's Psy-Q Music Format: VAB+SEQ to MIDI+SF2. (I still have to adjust their ADSR Properties manually.)
