It’s a fairly dystopian feeling to lose your presentation and friends’ - as a trans person it’s a familiar feeling for no one to know what I want to look like. This dismissal reeks of this same thing - label it as “gooner” and belittle its largely queer userbase

The way I’ve been told is, think of a megaphone. It’s gotta have a mic for your voice then a bigass speaker to replicate your voice but louder. The mouthpiece/mic doesn’t have to be great. Just the instrument/speaker.

Alabama only began closing major educational achievement gaps between white and Black students after direct federal aid to schools became available in the 1960s, alleviating some of the worst effects of our Jim Crow school funding model. The DOE administers many of those programs.
