tbh this has been a problem for years now and I suspect the major issue is developmental editing. Especially new authors don't seem to get the benefit of having somebody tell them how to fix the (understandable! normal!) problems with their stories the way they used to

also WHERE ARE THE EDITORS. why are we not preventing this. why do we allow perfectly good potential to stay buried when a lot of these novels could be massively improved by basic editing.
