🔴 BREAKING | Israel kills three Palestinian resistance fighters as an Israeli-armed collaborator militia abducts Qassam commander Adham al-Okair in eastern Rafah, footage shows.

The militia, known as the “Popular Forces” and led by Ghassan Duhine, is armed and backed by Israel, with support from the United Arab Emirates. It was installed by Israel earlier during the genocide to aid its broader starvation strategy by facilitating looting of aid and “engineering chaos” in southern Gaza, as locals described it.

Video shared Thursday shows Duhine standing beside the captured Qassam Brigades commander, striking and taunting him, and vowing to pursue other figures who continue to resist Israeli oppression. Israel’s Channel 12 described al-Okair as the commander of the fighters who remained in Rafah.

He had been trapped for months east of Israel’s so-called “yellow line” in Rafah, as Israeli forces repeatedly blocked any evacuation or negotiated exit for him and hundreds of other fighters, leaving them encircled without food or supplies. His visibly emaciated condition reflects the prolonged siege the fighters have endured.

The abduction came amid renewed Israeli airstrikes in Rafah. The Israeli military claimed it identified eight fighters emerging from underground infrastructure overnight and said airstrikes killed three, with the results of additional strikes “under review.” In a later joint statement with the Shin Bet, the military said Israeli forces apprehended a “key commander” in Hamas’ eastern Rafah battalion during subsequent searches. The statement did not mention the Israeli-backed collaborator militia in whose custody the commander is shown in video footage.

Senior Hamas official Basem Naim said the images “broke our hearts,” but stressed that Gaza “will not forget its men and will not abandon them at any cost,” warning also that Gaza “will not forget or forgive those who betrayed it,” and that history will bear witness.

The abduction underscores Israel’s growing reliance on armed collaborators after failing to defeat entrenched resistance through siege and airpower after nearly two and a half years of war, while exposing a deeper contradiction from international actors who call for Hamas and other resistance factions to disarm while Israel arms and facilitates collaborator militias in Gaza.

Senior Hamas leader Dr. Mousa Abu Marzouk echoed that view in an interview earlier this week: “If Netanyahu’s talking about weapons in Gaza that he wants to confiscate, why is he arming Palestinian groups operating outside the law and outside national norms… What will happen to their weapons if weapons are taken from the other (Hamas’) side?” he asked.

Abu Marzouk warned that arming militias operating outside any legal or national framework could collapse internal security in Gaza and risks plunging the territory into extreme chaos (video clip in reply).

🟢 Senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan tells Al Jazeera Mubasher:

➤ The assassination of Hamas leader Mahmoud al-Holi marks a serious escalation and exposes Israel’s intent to undermine the ceasefire agreement

➤ Israel continues to disrupt the ceasefire through repeated violations of its terms. The U.S. administration must compel Israel to implement the ceasefire agreement

➤ The responsibility now lies with Donald Trump and Steve Witkoff to show, in practice, whether Israel is committed to the ceasefire

➤ The world is witnessing immense human suffering in Gaza as Israel deliberately obstructs humanitarian and relief aid

➤ The resistance has fully abided by the ceasefire terms, despite the injustice and the continued violations

➤ The resistance is ready to hand over administration of the Gaza Strip to the independent Palestinian committee agreed upon by all factions

Code for all this can be found here for reference - relevant bits are in Editor/Importer. There's more stuff in this repo but the main part is just the importer and edge selector code.

Next step is probs support for adding level objects in hammer

4. Unity setup

Back in unity, now you can just drag your hammer map to the scene and all meshes with "preserve_" should have their edge selector working. Double clicking on an edge selects the edge loop then "Ctrl+G" sets a spline to it. All done!

3. Export as fbx

Export the hammer map as an FBX, with the specific naming convention of "hmr_[name]". The prefix is just an indicator to tell our asset post processor to run on this file. The setup isn't really hammer specific though, but it kinda started off that way so this is a left-over.

10.01.2026 15:20 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

We need to preserve the original topology for our edgeloop walk to match the edge loops you'd expect in hammer

"[tag]": This is just additional meta-data to inform us on how the object should be setup in unity. In this case, "Rail" and "Vert" tell us to set the physics layer to the appropriate one.

10.01.2026 15:20 — 👍 2    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

1. Create your hammer scene

Nothing special

2. Tag faces to preserve

Select the relevant faces and separate them (or the whole mesh ig), and name them the following:
"preserve_[tag]"

"preserve": tells our asset post processor to store the original mesh, preserving its pre-triangulated topology

Hammer 2 -> Unity Level Design Pipeline:

Hammer's our primary level editor, and we wanted a way to be able to author QPs & Rails directly in hammer.

Gist is:
- Tag meshes
- Preserve original topology on import
- Edge loop selection -> splines

🟢 BREAKING: Hamas condemns renewed Israeli bombardment as death toll in Gaza rises to 14

The death toll from Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip has risen to 14 people, including five children, according to Al Jazeera Arabic, as Hamas issued a new statement condemning what it called a “dangerous criminal escalation” and a “blatant violation” of the ceasefire agreement.

Hamas said the ongoing bombardment of multiple areas of Gaza is aimed at “shuffling the deck,” “evading the obligations of the agreement,” and “obstructing the transition to the second phase” of the ceasefire.

The group called on mediators and guarantor states to condemn the violations, saying they are being carried out under “flimsy and fabricated pretexts” and overseen by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Hamas urged immediate pressure on Israel to halt the attacks, open the Rafah crossing in both directions, allow in aid and shelter supplies, and “move immediately to the second phase” of the agreement.
