You don’t need my advice—because if you’re like me, you couldn’t stop pushing even if you tried. It’s in your nature. And if you keep going, something will land.

8/ It reminds me why I do this, even when the doors don’t open as quickly as I’d hoped.

I promise to keep fighting, and I promise you—it will happen. When it does, you’ll be the first to know. There’s a lot of new work coming soon, and I can’t wait to share it with you.

7/ You still have to fight for every opportunity.
It’s not good or bad. It just is.

But here’s what keeps me going: you.
And to everyone who’s supported me (you know who you are)—thank you.
Your support isn’t just validation; it’s fuel.

6/ I thought things would get easier after that—but they didn’t. Even after running a successful crowdfunding campaign, nothing is guaranteed.

I’m not sharing this to complain. I just want to be transparent.
Even after you “break in,” there’s no free pass.

5/ I found over 700 pitch emails in my sent folder. Out of those:
📩 100+ rejections
🤷 1 “maybe” (that later turned into a no)
✅ 2 published projects
✉️ And the rest? Completely ignored. No response at all.

BIORIPPLE with Heavy Metal felt like a breakthrough.

4/ Despite feeling established in the art collectors’ market, breaking into bigger publishers is still incredibly tough. I’ve spent over a decade not just creating books, but constantly pitching, networking, marketing, promoting, and doing interviews.

3/ My commission list fills up as soon as it opens, and I’m deeply grateful for the support from collectors and fans. 🙏

But here’s the hard part:
I get asked all the time, “Why don’t you have a book with [insert big publisher] yet?”
The truth? I’m trying. Really hard.

1/ 🎨 Some thoughts about the comic industry 🎨

I “broke in” with my graphic novel BIORIPPLE in 2022.

2/ Since then, I’ve worked with my incredible art rep TDArt, won an Inkwell Award in 2023, participated in comic shows, completed countless commissions, and sold art for thousands of dollars.
