I am currently moving my first resources from CloudFlare to Bunny and I am really looking forward to it!

I really like the natural “engagement” on BlueSky and Mastodon. It feels like it is way easier to find and reach people that are interested in #infosec #it #development, #computerscience and #selfhosting than on the blue bird.

I hate that so many project and service info gets dumped into #Discord. You can't search for any of it publicly, everyone has to create an account just to read basic information, and the whole platform is completely proprietary and controlled by a single company (1/2) #signalboost

I haven't used Soundcloud for quite some time and I could imagine that this is the reason for the password reset requirement, but then the wording is really odd.

I also checked the address with @haveibeenpwned.com (and a few similar services) and non of them showed a leak. I really wonder where this information comes from. (2/2)

Have i been pwned, no results

I just faced a really weird behavior on #Soundcloud:
I was blocked from logging in, as my email address was "disclosure of user data from another service", which is really odd because it is a alias only used and given to Soundcloud (on my own domain). (1/2)

For now I will stick to modsecurity, as I am more familiar with it and when I have more time I will find out which crowdsec rules break Immich and Nextcloud.
I used the "Crowdsec Bouncer Traefik Plugin" with appsec enabled.

I tried to use #crowdsec for the first time today to lock down the proxy that I use to proxy #Immich and #Nextcloud, but noticed that it does not like the Nextcloud office nor some Immich features. (1/2)

We first thought about just switching to another provider but then decided to just self host it.

It is running on my #homelab and accessible with a tunnel remotely. I noticed a few small bugs and hence will try to fix them after my exams.

I set up a nextcloud instance with office integration that will replace our #Microsoft #Office Family subscription.

Now it's time to upload all data, which will likely take some time but is worth it.

German Immich mobile upload interface; uploading 16712 pictures/videos; already finished 127 of them

Trying to switch away from big tech is continuing:
I set up a #Immich instance to ditch #Google #Photos and take back my #privacy. I run the server on my #homelab and proxy it over a tunnel to be accessible everywhere.
Immich takes more resources than expected, but is running smooth with 6GB RAM.

I finally canceled my Microsoft Family subscription yesterday.

I am done with Microsoft, not only because I can't stand that US-Big-Tech supports Trump, but also because of privacy concerns.

I switched to a self-hosted Nextcloud instance for files and a Immich instance for pictures/videos.

That sounds like a bad idea.
Maybe you can export the passwords before the change takes effect and install a passwort manager as a browser extention as an alternative and import the data?

For file hosting, my family and me are switching to a Nextcloud instance.
Apart from boycotting the US switching away from US big tech safes me money and is great for privacy

If you want to take part in the “movement”, the easiest products to replace are email, file hosting and your password manager (@1password.bsky.social is great and from Canada)
