Yes, it's very upsetting how tax cuts for the wealthiest directly impacts America's deficit and our ability to fund programs that make life livable for the rest of us.

30.03.2025 10:21 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Launching clinical trials is expensive. Research teams hire staff, purchase equipment and supplies, build databases, write protocols, navigate regulatory approvals... this all costs money.
Recent #NIH grant terminations create waste by preventing return on taxpayers' investment in science. π§ͺ
Yes. The situation at NIH is worse than the public realizes.
The #NIH is on track to be effectively ended as a funder of evidence-based research within a year.
That is not an exaggeration. The firings and consolidation announced today will create a new, MUCH worse NIH.

I was so bummed when Jamboard got axed. If your workplace has a Microsoft license, I've found MS Whiteboard to be a decent substitute.

23andMe declared bankruptcy and the company is gonna be sold off for parts. That includes your DNA information and the only amount of control you have is to delete your info immediately. Itβs very simple to do.

21.03.2025 23:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There is no scientific rationale to this. There will be no economic benefit to the country. These are scientists who are finding out that overnight they can no longer pay staff and studentsβyou know, people who have bills to pay, mortgages, kids.

Just throwing it out thereβnow is a great time to schedule preventative care appointments or get a thorough check-up. Weβre in uncertain times with an administration that shows little regard for science or public health. That means itβs more important than ever to be proactive about your well-being.

I'm going to share the post of a family friend who has late stage cancer and will be directly affected by cuts to NIH. She is speaking out during the time she has. She wants people to know the human cost. Her name is Caroline. This is her post:
Like thousands of Americans, my job of improving national health through medical research depends on NIH grants. I love my job. Please take tangible action to protect American research.
