Yes, it's very upsetting how tax cuts for the wealthiest directly impacts America's deficit and our ability to fund programs that make life livable for the rest of us.

Launching clinical trials is expensive. Research teams hire staff, purchase equipment and supplies, build databases, write protocols, navigate regulatory approvals... this all costs money.

Recent #NIH grant terminations create waste by preventing return on taxpayers' investment in science. πŸ§ͺ

28.03.2025 02:57 β€” πŸ‘ 7    πŸ” 4    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Yes. The situation at NIH is worse than the public realizes.

The #NIH is on track to be effectively ended as a funder of evidence-based research within a year.

That is not an exaggeration. The firings and consolidation announced today will create a new, MUCH worse NIH.

23andMe declared bankruptcy and the company is gonna be sold off for parts. That includes your DNA information and the only amount of control you have is to delete your info immediately. It’s very simple to do.

There is no scientific rationale to this. There will be no economic benefit to the country. These are scientists who are finding out that overnight they can no longer pay staff and studentsβ€”you know, people who have bills to pay, mortgages, kids.

Tesla Recalls Nearly All Cybertrucks Over Stainless Steel Panels Falling Off (Gift Article) The recall of about 46,000 vehicles includes all models that were manufactured from November 2023, when the Cybertruck was first produced, through February.

Seeing that nearly all of Tesla's #cybertrucks have been recalled brought the biggest smile to my face today.

Sometimes we have to search hard for the wins, and sometimes they fall in front of us. Like a rusty cybertruck panel. 🀭

Just throwing it out thereβ€”now is a great time to schedule preventative care appointments or get a thorough check-up. We’re in uncertain times with an administration that shows little regard for science or public health. That means it’s more important than ever to be proactive about your well-being.

Cheering y'all on from North Carolina. The world desperately needs quality research, and it breaks my heart that the American government is actively dismantling our academic and scientific institutions.

Opinion | There’s a Name for What Trump Is Doing to Trans People: Denationalizing (Gift Article) The message is that we are a threat to the nation. The subtext is that we are not of this nation.

πŸ“° Insightful column by @mashagessen.bsky.social:

"The reason you should care about this is not that it could happen to you but that it is already happening to others. It is happening to people who, we claim, have rights just because we are human."

Remaining silent will not protect us."

First They Came for Columbia | Opinion | The Harvard Crimson We must learn from the past. We cannot remain silent in the face of authoritarian attacks on our peers, even if they have not yet come for us.

The only way to fight authoritarianism is to fight together. Strongest institutions in the front.
