If these losers can't get there for selfless reasons, you'd think selfishly they'd grasp who's to say they won't be next to be on the altar of expediency?

Like if someone is willing to throw a vulnerable group under the bus to get elected, they obviously don't have strong principles (or perhaps any principles) so why would anyone believe that it's part of a long-term strategy for anything but self gain?

I think that these "strategic centrist" types underestimate how many people won't vote for someone they see as lacking principles.

And like, it won't work. The GOP called fuckin' BIDEN a radical communist, they ran ads saying "She's for They/Them" about Harris. Obama was 'tough on the boarder' to try and get the GOP to like him and they STILL hated him.

Compromising on other people's rights just won't work. They'll just lie.

You save everyone or save no one. Either nobody is expendable or everyone is.

This isn’t a purity test, it’s basic human decency.

If they start throwing one group of people under the bus, they’ll throw others if asked to, because THOSE are the kind of people they want to appease.

At this point im starting to wonder if hearing the words “purity test” are a dogwhistle because the most shit opinions in the universe will almost always immediately follow it

If you are willing to throw away entire groups of people to protect your insular strategy that will only protect you instead of protecting everyone then I don’t want your leaders and I sure as hell don’t want to be associated with you.
