You only go to DTM for two reasons:
Save your career by winning and escaping.
Extending your career past its expiration date.

You can't force people to like living in Germany when they don't speak German or like Germany. It also doesn't pay well. Manufacturer politics during the era where most of the "bigger" DTM names come from were also exceptionally bad.
