Zero Sivert has a modular difficulty system.
On my first attempt I chose the defaults and mildly ruined the game for me. I'm waiting until I forget most of the details so I can run it again on a more difficult setting and really engage with the item economy.

supergiant's difficulty systems were so highly praised and it always was a bee in my bonnet. the modifier systems look so great and elegant -- they look amazing when you walk on right past them because game players are here to solve problems and solving "Game Boring" is simply not their job
