It feels like there are only AI "enthusiasts" testing it currently, and I haven't yet seen a test that mentions the limitations from a gamedev perspective. It might be why it is behind a huge paywall, though.

My point is, it is not gamedevs that will decide if AI slop will prevail in the future. It's not gaming executives either, even if they try hard.
At the end of the day, it will be the players who will decide. If they are ok with their experience with AI generated games, well then we will be cooked.

Those are nice tech demos, but not games. Honestly, if I learned something during my career, it's that making games is a real job by professionals, and gamers are most often than not terrible gamedevs.
But they know when they play a good game. They just don't know what makes a good game.
