6 by 26cm sketchy watercolour in muddy green, rose pink and blue on undyed calico. Some orange squiggles have been added to the rose pink blobs making them look more like rocks. A more verdant green had been scribbled over the previous green.
6 by 26cm sketchy watercolour on undyed calico. Water has blended the orange over the rose and the two greens. Looking much more landscapy too with a bit of shadow/depth
A photograph of Red Bay Labrador showing the orange red rocks that give the bay its name. There is also a narrow strip of beach and scrubby trees. The image includes the sea but not the sky and the land slopes up from the sea.
Inspired by my 2024 visit to UNESCO Basque whaling site Red Bay in Labrador, Canada I’m finally getting round to working up some stuff from it. Quick watercolour background for some #Beading #HandEmbroidery #WorkInProgress
(Other Red Bay stuff on the drawing board too, including mappy things!)

Using #RussianSpiral, a new #BeadWeaving technique for me. Keeping the base bead consistent and fading three different colours. Managed to make it long enough to go over my head when the ends were joined together. Accidental #Necklace

An hour and a half commute each way, and that’s assuming he can pick up a reliable used car. Public transport would probably take most of the day

This is as far as I got this weekend. Not quite long enough for a necklace. Might as sone plain spiral at both ends or try threading an appropriate colour ribbon through it.

My version in textile of the medieval story of a whale being mistaken for an island by a sailor with unfortunate consequences for all.
At least they didn’t mistake it for an island. I made this a few years ago.
