GOD FINALLY. 430lb machine moved up the steps in to the house. Fuck. That sucked incredible ass.

Once I've used this a couple years and have worked out all the kinks I'll def share all the specs for others. Too new to do so confidently yet tho

I've done a lot to address weight too. Enclosures being too heavy to easily clean once full of substrate and nonsense has been a pain point for years. It was too much too quickly even though they are only in an enclosure overnight and when we're not home!

The rug is probably the weirdest choice, but after over a decade I think I deserve to say fuck you to particulates indoors and paper towels. They can scratch around on this, flop on it comfortably, keep their feet clean, and I can rotate between rugs every week bc affording many isn't difficult.

The finished enclosure will have full spectrum lighting w/programmed sunrise/sunset, nesting pads, some foraging toys, and some better hardware. + their supplement cups and stuff (grit, eggshell.) They'll have soft bedding on their perch as well. Might switch from this rug to bath rugs eventually.

Slowly putting together a new enclosure build based on having had house chickens as long as I have. It is at least to the point where these two can be cozy!

I'm so mad. I was recovering great from this mouth trauma and just needed something simple done today that should've been the end to this nightmare. They couldn't have possibly fucked it up worse.

I can do that for feathers that are ready to erupt from the casings, but all these in the photos are growing quills. There is unfortunately no way to speedrun feather maturation. Seasonal molters have it rough vs birds that molt continously since they get all the tender pins everywhere at once

Werewolves done. I still have some gryphons to do, 2 big cons to prep for, and we're butting up against carrion baggage fulfilment starting but it was the wolves wrecking me. I swear I lost like 30lbs from not eating or sleeping, if I don't wear a belt my pants fall right off.

If I could just justify having 2 cockatrice suits to my wife... I am excited to see this one someday 👀

I'm both and I get you on the meds thing. The way I look at it, autism makes me operate differently but not incorrectly, so there's nothing there to bother fixing. But ADHD makes me operate incorrectly, which means I need more than adjusted expectations to deal with it.

FINALLY I can hug BJ again!! She still can't wear pants, but she is far enough through the molt that petting and attention are ok as long as I'm not rough. Just need my back to heal so I can spend more than 2 seconds with her

I adopted a retired breeder leachie! She is a calm, sweet individual according to her old keeper, and she hasn't given me anything even close to sass yet. I'm gonna spoil her rotten

Oh no!! Poor thing, I hope it doesn't repeat with molting on the horizon now that days are getting longer. If your bird is ok with water, when Pepper was older and started having awful molts I'd give her warm soaks with the water just deep enough to let her float some. Helped her lots! Bj freaks tho

Idk, it is frustrating. Like I imagine this is how my wife feels when she sees me having a bad pain day knowing she can't do anything to make it less awful. She is at least getting lots of treats and Sippies (she gets very VERY excited to drink water from a human cup)

She really wants me to fix it and I feel so bad that all I can do is give her a little pain management 😔 She wants to be held and comforted, but every time she jumps on my lap she jumps right back down bc it hurts too much to lean on me. This is partly because she didn't molt basically all year too.
