Here's the book I want someone to write: a history of Topps cards; yes, all the sports ones, but also the oddballs (Batman TV show, Evel Knievel, Mars Attacks, ad infinitum).

I don't have a title yet! But man, what a story it might be.

Baseball returns to Old Joliet Prison as part of Route 66 celebration Joliet is one of six communities nationwide — and the only one in Illinois — selected as an official Route 66 Centennial Kickoff city.

The inmates are still gone but baseball is coming back to the Old Joliet Prison.

The Joliet Slammers will play on the historic grounds against the Gateway Grizzlies of Sauget, Illinois, in an exhibition game April 30 as part of an official Route 66 Centennial kickoff celebration.

This week I started a new role as deputy editor of Election Analytics.

Update: Finished TASK. It's really good, and the best show ever about a serious birder. But man, the plot holes just kept getting bigger in the last two episodes. I'm guessing a bunch of exposition got cut for time? Kinda frustrating, as so many things about the show were so great.

Been (re)watching a lot of COLUMBO lately (thanks, Roku). Great show, but nearly every episode has some gaping plot hole you sorta have to ignore. Oh, those silly old-time shows!

Bruce Sutter and Dan Quisenberry Two pitchers have remarkably similar careers in the same era and one goes to the Hall of Fame and the other doesn't even get to be on a second ballot.
