Ive already spun the wheel for tomorrow nights movie and well... i was hoping for a little more of a warm up before this one...

The Evil Dead was such a great movie to start this spooky month off with. A really simple premise with extremely effective followthru and some beautiful (and some gross) shots. I really enjoyed it.

I saw the 2013 reboot of evil dead and army of darkness like a decade ago in highschool (i missed 90% of the remake because me and my bestie went out to get maccas and got high on the way, got back and all the food was cold and everyone was pissed). Never seen the original films.

They can't seem to imagine a reality where their interests, which were seen as "not cool", and the hobbies that were seen as "cool" might both be seen as "cool" at the same time. It's a very adversarial way of looking at hobbies. Almost like team sports *audience boos and pelts tomatos at me*

I feel like fandom nerds grew up in a time where dorky stuff was frowned upon, we had this chip on our shoulder because games, anime, sci-fi and superheroes were looked down on. But now thats mainstream culture. Dune is a household name and they're making a Rama movie. You're interests aren't hated.

Life happens and we swap codes to rugby league, watching the Storm at Aami Park almost every week. I did work experience with them when i was 15. Next week I'll watch them play the Grand Final, a good 12 years since i started watching them. Crazy shit.

My sister got a job at the then brand new (now defunct) Melbourne Rebels Super Rugby Union club and got free tickets to the games off of it. At first my dad and I went thinking "we've got nothing better to do and free is free" but it grew into an absolute obsession, and an important part of my life.

I used to feel this way about sports when I was super young, like primary school. That being said, Victoria is the AFL homeland and I've never really been interested in AFL. My opinion on sports as a whole changed in early highschool, though.
