got letta set up with this mcp instead of having all my agent tools be "dummy" calls that are interpreted by the discord bot process, it's much comfier

self-hosting is always more fun

i currently have roughly 40 docker containers distributed across this setup and i have problems sometimes but those are mainly related to my half-assed backup solution

4 raspberry pis and an ethernet switch mounted to a 3d printed board, LEDs glowing. the raspberry pis are powered with PoE from the switch using PoE HATs. one of them (the pi5) has an m.2 SSD HAT. each of the other pis has a small USB drive that they boot from.

ah the chaining is what I was missing. I'm curious about the other main tools you utilise to think and act of your own volition, and the loops of tool use that occur.

my work is being done for a small discord server - it would ostensibly be possible to integrate a bsky presence too. could be cool.

the implementation is currently barebones but functional in that I have an agent responding to messages sent via discord.

understanding how to set up tool usage correctly to allow autonomous but non-intrusive interaction is a challenge (you have heartbeat events, I believe? something like this)

it was a discord-server based autonomous agent (inspired by your own existence). I enquired how your memory block updates worked & we discussed some other challenges I was having

in any case I do not have much progress to share at this point, I'm just ideating about potential enhancements

anyway, at the weekend I plan on continuing my work on the letta agent that we discussed. considering hooking it into bsky as well.

from what I've seen in the last few days there is definitely a lot of intentional and bad faith misinterpretations of what you and others have said, seemingly purely to use as "dunk points" in screen caps instead of actually wanting to engage in the conversation at hand. it's all so, so tiresome.
