Only January, and I think I found the post I will measure all others against this year.
01.02.2026 11:27 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Mockup for a "what-if" magazine ad for FFVII Remake Intergrade, poking fun at the classic ad for the original game. I couldn't use the Junon shot, because that's on the next game (mild spoiler). I also didn't use the original opening line of the copy, because console wars aside, that was particularly dark.
Scan of the original magazine ad.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade going multiplatform, especially for Switch 2, is one of the best things to me, and I say that as someone who was on Playstation since the PS1.
But.
They should have done this for the advertising, if anything, to make things come full circle. ๐

29.01.2026 06:21 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I had to bop my head against the wall a few times during a recent attempt to replay it when I hit the right stick, only to go to first person view FOR THE 10TH TIME IN THREE ROOMS. ๐
How did I manage to play this back in the day!? HOW!?! ๐คฃ
Ever wish you could go back and be one of the artists tasked with doing the G1 boxart? Or even (my god, WHAT IF) the back of box battle scene?
29.01.2026 02:34 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This was one of the first anime I watched when I was getting seriously into it. The entire episode that takes place during a typhoon was particularly striking.
That was also around when I learned that they had animators specifically for 'special effects', for stuff like smoke and splashing water.
6 fumbled so 9 can fly.
I also enjoyed 6. The "play as an enemy" function could be better implemented on the side of the one taking control of the dog or zombie, but there's that added hit of tension and difficulty when those enemies are controlled by other players.

It's a REALLY good gun... ๐คช
I paid what was full retail at the time... because I just wanted the gun.

I have the Ratchet version of this mold, and on top of its physical design, it has also yellowed something FIERCE, and that was while in storage!
Hitomi, from the Dead or Alive series, for โชbond1250.bsky.social The wet t-shirt was part of the request, and so getting it down with pencil was quite the challenge. I'm sure there are tutorials and such out there, but I was kinda unwilling to add that to my search history! If you took a look at the preview photo I took of the sketches, you can notice that her belt was not fully shaded in at the time, and that was its state when I scanned in the piece, only noticing it after I had already started on the digital touchups (increasing the white highlights, texture, etc.). So I took the pic, finished the shading, then scanned it again and lined it up with the work that was already in progress. Now that I'm looking at the completed work as I type this, I can see that it was done at the time I was binging a bit on Chrissie Zullo Uminga's work, and it was definitely bleeding into my own drawings. Not exactly, fortunately, but I can see its influence.
Galaxy Fight's Roomi for @mistahdood.bsky.social I remember Galaxy Fight from my time scouring the arcades back in high school, watching people play games, but not having the courage to play myself, even if it was on my own. The arcades were getting to the point that some were 80 if not 90% fighting games, from Street Fighter II, King of Fighter '98, and Samurai Shodown, to all the less-bloody discount Mortal Kombat clones, because I guess management balked at having THE controversial violent game series on their floors. While I feel I got some of the more exaggerated range of posing that I was aiming for, I think I could have made her hands even larger, in retrospect. They are supposed to be comically large to begin with, but as it is, they look more... normal... in comparison to the rest of her figure.
January theme is Sketch Requests!
I only got two this time, but I'll open up more slots in the future when needed.
In the meantime, enjoy!
Loving the subtle foreshadowing on the page where the girl passes by with one hair color, and when she turns back, the other side "looks" like her hair color changed.

The art for the January request thread is pretty much done, but I'm giving it the rest of the day to stew in case I feel like fixing anything. But likely to post later tonight, tomorrow morning at latest!

I love drawing with digital tools, but I also love drawing with pen and paper.
I hope you enjoy my art
I'm trying to keep myself more in the dark now, satisfied with the teasers at this point, so the only news I need to hear will be, "demo available later today".
Bonus points if untimed.
My biggest pull ended up being the rocky cliff I was sitting on.

If it's true, then I might need to update this pic...
The only thing from MM1 that was worth dropping was the scoring system, which was starting to get antiquated, even at that time. No one really cared about their score playing Mega Man, unless they were aiming for the leaderboards posted in Nintendo Power.
