Lest this appear entirely doomer-gloomer, my point is - there's going to have to be a massive unprecedented GOTV campaign. If the whole GOP is going to go full-scale autocracy, it's got to be blatantly obvious to even the most low-info voter.

Trump's playbook is their playbook. If Johnson won't even seat Grijalva for BS reasons, why should we think he will seat Ds after the midterm? He'll echo Trump and say "fraud" etc.

And if - if - Ds overcome all that and get enough votes, we already know Trump will scream "fraud" and play victim (his signature move.) But this time all of the GOP is MAGA through and through.

He's already well into purging the DOJ; and he's now trying it with the military. And DHS/ICE are turning into his personal goons.

The amnesia around Jan 6 still stuns me. The only thing that stopped Trump from using troops is that he didn't have the cooperation of Mark Milley (joint chief of staff) and others.

Obstacles include re-districting; possible evisceration of voting right act by SCOTUS; DOJ attempts to interfere with states running elections; further restrictions on voting at Federal and State level; and, yes, deployment of troops.

The midterms will not be normal.

There is absolutely no way that Trump and GOP/MAGA will let Ds take control of the House.

The federal criminal justice system is being systematically dismantled and destroyed piece by piece and turned into a mob boss’s network of corrupt consiglieres and thugs, where good people simply doing their jobs are rooted out and eradicated.
