A student from my course last fall stopped by to say hello and mentioned she was grabbing lunch with another student from that class.

I joked that that's resistance - and she said it really is, she's building social capital!

My class did more than teach material, it fomented community!

Resistance to Trump 2.0 will have to look and feel different.

Rest - you can't fill the cups of others if you're running low.

Reinvest - in communities and friendships.

Me trying to figure out how Trump is going to improve the economy while issuing EOs that mean hundreds (and likely more) of people will lose their jobs.

To be fair, capitulation of this sort shouldn't be surprising (even though it is disappointing). It always felt like much of what was achieved post-Floyd was performative hand-wringing, window-dressing at best, that did little to address the white supremacy underlying much of corporate culture.

I don't know what's more upsetting - all the awful things Trump is doing through executive order or that so many are preemptively capitulating to this overgrown man-child.

I saw a comic suggesting that one way women can bring "masculine energy" to the workplace is by pooping in the office bathroom.

Today I learned the Gini coefficient for the US.

What's a Gini coefficient? A measure, from 0 to 1, of how equally a nation's wealth is distributed amongst its population.

An ideal score? 0 = perfect equality.

New to Bluesky so I could be wrong, but it seems to me the difference in vibes btwn this platform and X is that on X it felt like you had to try to 'win' - get a lot of likes, get retweeted a bunch, go viral.
