That's the game they had a 9 minute power play & didn't score right and had 50 shots on goal? The canes do get buffed on the deserve to win meter because of the quantity of shots they take, but I do think they had control of the play for large portions of the game tonight.

We'll agree to disagree on this one. I don't think the refs were great by any means, but I think there's more to look at than that.

What if they killed it? Bad calls happen to every team. I think they still lose this game if the Timo penalty doesn't happen with how they were playing.

They got outshot 41-23 for the game. They instantly gave up the tying goal after going up 2-1, & the Canes were better the 45 or so minutes before the Timo penalty. It's ok that they got out played it happens.

Devils were being outplayed before that & Allen kept the game close with some big saves. A 3 minute power play didn't win the Canes the game or lose it for the Devils imo.
Devils can also come up with a big PK there & take momentum, but they didn't. Not gonna beat top teams every game

Complain about the refs if you want, but that's not the reason the Devils lost tonight. Outplayed for the majority of the game. Hurricanes are a strong team & very good at home. Take the split of the two games & give credit where it's due. #NJDevils
