The Marvel Cave Mining Company is taking back this section of the park for geological surveys, ordering Thunderation to vacate the tracks to make way for resumed mining operations inside Silver Dollar City.

The one thing we were super curious about, but sold out too quickly for us to get to experience, was the β€œPressure Test: Bound Below” experience. It was VIP only. Did anyone get to experience it?

We did enjoy ourselves, though we feel it needs maybe one more activity (and a bit more decor)

We also enjoyed that to get between all these different activities, you had to walk through a fairly significant portion of the Infirmary maze. While there were no scareactors, the props were still up, so it sort of felt like a behind the scenes tour you could take at your own pace. A nice bonus!

A lot of guests did get super dressed up for Dark Masquerade. While there was a DJ and dance floor inside, we appreciated the live jazz music outside

There was also food and drinks, but we didn’t partake too much there

In this short vertical vid, you can see the upper bridge from The Search for Mary mini maze, which crosses over this space.

If you look carefully, you’ll catch a single bobbing red light moving across the top… those were people doing the maze with their red glowstick

Visually, super impressive! It was a very cool mood in there

Gale’s Requiem was the most visual by far. Head downstairs to a β€œsecret” bar into the enormous empty area of the ship, which is anchored by an elegant performance and video screens all around. While it doesn’t sound like much, it was fairly impressive to see!

We managed to do it twice, and both times casts were pretty consistent. At the end of the night the line grew so long, they used the nearby movie theater to hold people and let us sit and watch horror music videos while we waited. Not a terrible idea!

The longest line of the night was Sweetheart’s Slaughterhouse. Going through most of the Feast maze, it was full of actors, but instead of scares, you experienced the story of a missing chef who was probably using human flesh as the main ingredient…

It was maybe 1/2 the length of a usual maze, but it did have a few scareactors, and you did get to cross the infamous bridge that goes high over the old engine room space. We did it three times, and it never really had a wait all night!

While Dark Masquerade didn’t blow our minds, we did enjoy ourselves! Operations were smooth, and with one exception, all lines for activities were very short!

Our favorite was the mini maze The Search for Mary, where you were given a glowstick, and there were some very dark sections!

Pics and video to come later, but not a bad time! Emphasis on mood more than scares, but we did get to do about 1/2 of a Dark Harbor maze (with limited scareactors) armed only with a glow stick!

Biggest shock.. it was a walk on all night, so we did it three times!

Tried the crispy corn cheese bites, available at Strictly on a stick. Not bad, though the cheese drizzled on top was more of a nacho cheese (I was expecting cheddar). Texture and taste of the corn fritters was great. Cheese was good, didn’t wow me. Also didn’t care for the cheese on the fries

Ghost Town Grill (the table service restaurant in Knott’s) has a special add on Peanuts menu. Tried the fondue. It was good, but definitely more a shareable item. Bread was good but very buttery.
