Rehoming. A territorial squirrel stashing pine cones in an old log home. This log home collapses and decomposes more each year. Kinda sad seeing this history disappear, but yet reassuring to see nature reclaiming what has always been its.

Simple pleasures. Nothing feels better after a hike in a downpour of rain about to turn to snow, than getting back to your car and turning the heater on blast and the seat heater on high.

Sunday. A day for gentle intrusions into reflections. A day to start with allowing your thoughts to wander.

What a day yesterday.Trying to fit too many errands while in town. Another unsettling news cycle. Rushing to make calls from parking lots.

The decision to loop by the ponds outside of town was the best. Sandhill Cranes staging for migration. Calmed by the melody of soft purrs and rattling bugles.
