We recommend governments to:
1) Quickly implement a targeted tax and levy exemption for efficient and flexible heat generation.

2) Extend this with reform for all industrial end-users, don't put new policy costs on electricity and start a gradual tax shift from electricity to gas.

Influence of electricity tax and levy exemptions with carbon price on industrial heat pump payback period.

Taking a closer look at investments in industrial heat pumps, we find that taxes and levy reduction together with carbon pricing can significantly reduce payback periods, especially for very efficient heat pumps. Yet, structural reforms are needed to further reduce electricity prices.

Factors affecting economic viability of industrial heat electrification

Our analysis focusses on industrial electricity and #gas prices, aiming to reduce payback periods for investment in electrified process heat. We identify countries (EU and UK) with high potential and need for pricing reform.

Dutch government sells nearly half of TenneT Germany for $11.3 billion The Dutch government is selling 46% of power grid operator TenneT's German unit to an investor consortium for up to 9.5 billion euros ($11.3 billion), it said, kicking off the separation from a business it has long been trying to divest.

Grid investment needs are ramping up. NL government is selling part of TSO TenneT to raise more capital for expansion & strengthening.

46% will be taken over by a Dutch pension fund, and the Norwegian & Singaporean sovereign wealth funds.
