No, I’d agree. ARR is also very dense, and you can enter buildings. In some cases there are FATE chains that change the world, and enemies patrolling areas. Also small nook and crannies everywhere.

Besides ARR, I’d say Eureka has the best zone design.

Tomozaki is so good. No clue how Yuki Yaku does it, honestly. Given it previously sounded like the next volume would release in close tandem to this, I surely hope he hasn't written himself into a corner.

I guess that ultimately, despite really digging a lot (unevenness aside), I just want to ask who the game currently is for. Or rather, what is it trying to achieve.

I am mildly curious about what the future holds as it seems like it's possibly going to keep one of its best new ideas going forward, at least. But jeez, I can't believe I've grown so distant to FFXIV so quickly since Endwalker (not its post-patches) ended.

As for the story? It's definitely better and had good ideas. But it doesn't really matter when it rings hollow and lacks emotional core, mainly due to relying on base-DT which lacks it altogether. There's some great bits in there - especially a gameplay section - but also just the usual bad. Shame.
