Roevember Day 7 : Rain

Roevember Day 1 : Starting Out

I have a couple pictures of a young Marble with her parents!

She doesn't quite remember what they looked like, though...

Due to a throat injury (thanks to Gaius Van Baelsar), Marble communicates almost exclusively using sign language. She can still talk, but the result is often gravelly and painful for her. Luckily, her friends were willing to learn the language to both talk to her themselves or translate for others.

I present you her. She occupies most of the space between my ears.

Also dear god please can we have the upscaled face paints soon the freckles look so BAD. IIRC we were getting them at some point as part of the graphics update but they're all so crunchy rn

I made some adjustments to her design in the benchmark to help, but Marble came out so different and angry looking I eventually had to make some changes myself. I adore her and would never change my character because of the graphics update, but I know other face 2 femroes had this problem too.

Fun fact - Whenever I write dialogue for Marble, I use square brackets to indicate her use of sign language.

Marble was born in Garlemald. She was moved to Ala Mhigo 2 years into her time serving in the military to be a field test for Aulus on the long-term effects of giving someone additional aether. This resulted in some changes in her appearance, as her body is practically overflowing with aether now.

The idea isn't original, theres a video on youtube already by The Backlogs who test the idea in multiplayer, but I've been working on it solo and have cleared the main campaign and the Back To The Future dlc completely. If theres a mission that can't be done without scaff, I havent found it yet.

I am not a good editor at all but i have a compulsion to make a video on my journey trying to complete every Powerwash Simulator mission without using any of the scaffolding items (Stepstool, ladder and actual scaffolding).
I promise its more interesting than it sounds. Would people even watch that?

Before making Marble, I had tried making a couple of my other characters in the character creator, but i realised trying to fit them into XIV's aesthetic wasn't gonna work.

Admittedly, Marble's initial character data is saved as 'Dommy Mommy', but 3 years on I don't regret picking femroe at all.

6. Marble's always liked long blue trains on her clothes, but most of her preferred clothes were actually gifted to her by friends. For a while, she also preferred large, chunky gauntlets and greaves, but she's switched to lighter wear more recently. She won't be seen without her crown, though.

5. Marble starts off in ARR very closed off, quite wary and shy. She shakes this off over time, and by DT, she's a confident beam of sunshine - Supportive, kind and fiercely protective of her loved ones.
