I was on my boat late last night & thought I heard a scrabbling noise coming from outside. I saw movement out of the corner of my eye & looked up to see a fox had come through my open boat hatch & was climbing into my bed!

We have a chance for strong storms along a cold front, mostly after midnight tonight.

An isolated storm may develop this afternoon and evening, but we'll likely have to wait for a line along the cold front that will push through the region between 2 a.m. and 9 a.m. Tuesday.

It's going to be a nice weekend! I want to catch you before you tune out for the weekend, though, as a chance for severe weather kicks off next week on Monday. I'll have new information on what will likely be our next ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day all morning on ABC17 News

Most areas have improved with dry time, but flooding along the Blackwater River is still a problem. Good news is rain ahead won't be nearly as impactful as what we had over the weekend. I have the latest this morning on ABC17!

We have warm and dry weather through Tuesday. It's the result of a stout wind which has a red flag warning in place, so please do not burn!

It's a colorful alert map this morning, as the NWS has laid out separate alerts acording to the varied impacts expected across mid-MO the next two days. I'll have the latest on what this means for you, including a track on snow moving in today, on ABC17 News This Morning.

I've made some small tweaks to the snowfall map, but overall the messaging is the same. We expect an impactful winter storm to bring inches of snow across the region, which will deteriorate travel through the day Wednesday. I'll have the latest on ABC17 & FOX22

I'm tracking a setup that indicates meaningful chances for snow for next week. I'll have more on this and a look at the weekend on ABC17 News This Morning.

Temperatures are dropping a few extra degrees this morning, so Boone, Audrain, Howard, and Saline counties have been added to the advisory. Elevated surfaces will be first, but where the pavement is cold enough, we'll develop ice on roads as well. Use caution this morning.

The NWS has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Chariton, Randolph, Monroe, and Macon counties for Wednesday morning. Rain moving in over cold air tonight into Wednesday morning will create a scenario where light icing may occur. Tracking latest on ABC17 News This Morning.

A dense fog advisory has been issued for Pettis, Benton, and Morgan counties through noon, but fog does extend into our lake area counties such as Camden and Miller as well.

We have some fog developing near the Lake of the Ozarks and Truman lake this morning.

Ahhhh... we have refreshing images of rain showers on the ABC17 Stormtrack Doppler Radar this morning. This will not only be a nice change of pace, but will hopefully wash some of the snow and salt off the roads. It's looking like a beautiful weekend for a car wash!

We're warmer today. With this warmup, we'll have a slightly elevated fire risk, so be careful with open flames and sparks. Fortunately, rain returns areawide later this week!
