Yesterday, we had an emergency call with FEMA to request an expedited emergency declaration from the federal government.

I made it clear that the situation is dire. It’s our hope that the federal government act right away to get lifesaving resources to Washingtonians.

Especially, when manifested by white men.

Wish more Americans had the discernment to distinguish smart from smug.

Right up there with Democrats didn’t “codify Roe” on purpose.

So Screamer Jim thinks Dems should have agreed to withhold gov't employee salaries indefinitely & turn down SNAP funding, bc he trusts the GOP would've magically agreed to restore the ACA subsidies. The same GOP that: (1) cut the subsidies in the first place; & (2) just now refused to restore them.

Is losing 15 percent of your (already underwater) support in 8 months bad?

Also not to mention that the goal posts have shifted from "the Republicans will never allow a vote" to "the Republicans didn't vote with the Democrats" without acknowledging that we're doing this again in February.

Yes, a much better outcome would have been to keep the government shut down indefinitely while planes fell out of the sky and the economy began to crash, that certainly is a simply scenario that it would be easy to manage

We been "waiting for the old folks to die so we can stop being racist" for every single one of my 53 years. It's almost like, they pass it down generationally or something.

It's been truly remarkable to see the grand jury system actually act as a real line of defense.

Especially since--as I bet most non-lawyers don't know--the only legal person in the GJ room is the prosecutor: no defense, no judge.

There is NO place more favorable to the state. And they keep losing.
