Lesley lived here on Mull for the last years of her life. It was lovely to get to know her. She was such a brilliant and strong character, even into the depths of her illness. Her tales were superb. She's much missed.

I got the Drop when it came out. It was the first new Eno that I'd heard. It didn't quite work for me at the time, I should go back and listen to it now to see how it holds up alongside other computer generated music. Thanks for the reminder!

It’s a hellscape.
We knew someone who would cling on to any thread of a conversation they’d had with anyone so as to post that they were a consultant on a project. So much so that I’m sure I even saw them enter an ongoing role as “Wiper @ Own Arse”

Image of the mechanical ladder outside the Louvre
Text below says WENN'S MAL WIEDER SCHNELL GEHEN MUSS (When you need to move fast)
Underneath is more German text which translates as "The Böcker Agilo transports your treasures weighing up to 400kg at 42m/min - quiet as a whisper."
The German company that makes the mechanical ladder used in the Louvre heist has used the image to advertise, with the text 'When you need to move fast'
10/10 response, no notes

I’ve been collecting his 1st editions since I got into him. He’s just the best.

Rhoda Meek: When Storm Amy hit, every network failed. The analogue lifeline must stay
I CHANGED my column topic at the 11th hour this week. Why? Because, as luck would have it, only a few weeks after I wrote about how island…
‘Real resilience means investing in systems that can function when fibre cannot: satellite terminals, community radio repeaters, off-grid mobile cells, & emergency hubs with their own power supply & open access for residents.’
