Republicans were overwhelmingly getting blamed for the shutdown.
There was no reason for the Democrats to cave to Trump on healthcare, except for the fact that they are wholly owned and operated by the health insurance lobby.

If dems don't have the courage of their convictions, they are no different than Republicans

Voters don't vote for dems exactly because dems cave EVERY SINGLE TIME. Voters want people and leaders with the courage of their convictions, not spineless cowards.

Dems lost my vote, most likely permanently, with this. 40 years of voting betrayed for the last time. Looking for a new, true left party now.
