Sorry, the tankies have been rather unhinged since Ukraine began blowing up Russia's oil refineries.
Without a sarcasm flag (i.e. /s, π, or π), it has become impossible to tell the parodies from the sincerely rabid.
There is no lack of post WWII US actions deserving criticism.
Preserving the peace in Europe through NATO, both before and after the implosion of the USSR, is not one of them.
NATO is voluntary.
The US does not force countries to join, and does not crush people with tanks if they wish to leave.
No one gets into NATO without the approval of all NATO nations.
US interests in Europe are centered on maintaining the post WWII boundaries, pluralistic government, and preventing nuclear proliferation.
EVERYONE prospers under such conditions, and the US is part of everyone.
Your claim:
bsky.app/profile/vosc...
Talk about your flawed arguments... sheesh.
NATO admitted new members during a period of disarmament, when no one was buying weapons.
Hence the term "disarmament".
Russian aggression has led to rearmament, yes.
Cause and effect.
Yes, since Russia began its blatant war of aggression Poland and other countries near Russia have been purchasing billions of USD worth of weapons.
That is not why NATO expanded from 1994 to present.
Russia is the best and only recruiter NATO has ever had, or needed.
SINCE THE UKRAINE INVASIONS, yes.
The US did not think, in 1994, "We should have Poland join NATO so when Russia invades Ukraine, repeatedly, in 20-30 years from now, we will make a killing."
Yes, peace and lower trade barriers help everyone, and the US is part of everyone.
Claiming that NATO caused the US to become the dominant power is just silly. The US was already the dominant power prior to NATO.
Hence the "Keep the American's in" part of Lord Ismay's quote:
European countries were DISARMING from 1992 to 2008. They were not buying significant volumes of US weapons.
Hence Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, etc. being able to send trainloads of Warsaw Pact standard weapons and ammo to Ukraine in 2022 --- they had not replaced them with US weapons.
Non-US NATO military spending has been increasing since 2008, and the rate of increase again went up in 2014 and 2022.
One glance at those dates tells us you are confusing the lapdog (Trump) for his master (Putin).
Putin invaded Georgia in 2008, Ukraine in 2014, and Ukraine in 2022.
Not Trump.
Have your physician recalibrate your dosing on your medications.
NOW.
You really should not broach the topic of silly arguments.
You don't have to make this any easier.
Trust me, we've got this.
Kiddo, the US has had outsized influence on Europe since WWII because the US had outsized influence EVERYWHERE since WWII.
It was not due to NATO.
It was due to the US being the only industrial and financial power left standing after WWII.
Lol.
The US exited WWII as the nation with the majority of world industrial capacity, and the only nation with surplus industrial capacity.
That is a huge head start and why the US has dominated world economics since 1945.
The admission of Poland during disarmament did not boost arms sales.
Tell us, are the voices telling you that Trump has popular support, are they in the room right now?
07.12.2025 00:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Suuuuure, Kiddo.
You keep telling yourself that.
Your ignorant inability to defend your postion does not grant you license to dismiss others, Kiddo.
Why are you shilling for Imperialism?
Those demonstrating such an outstanding ignorance of history really should not lecture others on "research", Kiddo.
Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014 to keep Ukraine from seeking economic independence. That is the black-letter definition of Imperialism.
You are shilling for Imperialism.
Russia invaded Ukraine, repeatedly, in 2014.
In 2010 Ukraine enshrined neutrality in its constitution by banning its government from seeking NATO membership, and that ban was both popular and still in place UNTIL RUSSIA INVADED.
Russia is the best and only recruiter NATO has ever had, or needed.
Or one can look up the International Court of Justice review and ruling of all such matters, presented to them by Russia to support their claims against Ukraine.
The ICJ ruled by an overwhelming margin that the Russian claim was FALSE.
Your repeated Russian lies does not make them true.
US trade with Europe has increased as more and more of Europe threw off the Russian boot, yes.
That has much more to do with competitive products than anything else.
US spending in NATO historically accounted for 2/3 of all NATO military spending... you expected the US to import weapons?
Dude, your claim is that NATO expansion was motivated by increased US weapons sales in NATO.
Unfortunately for your claim, the period from 1992 to 2008 was one of historic DISARMAMENT within NATO.
That means sharply decreased weapons sales during that period, Dude.
In 2014 Ukraine was a lightly-armed, neutral nation not in NATO, not seeking to be in NATO, and constitutionally barred from joining NATO.
It was never about NATO. It continues to be about IMPERIALISM.
Your "explanation" is simply Kremlin propaganda. Your repeating it does not make it true.
Half the population of the DPR and LPR fled following the establishment of Russia's puppet states.
That tells us who was doing the killing.
Ukraine in 2014 was a lightly-armed, neutral country constitutionally barred from joining NATO. It was never about NATO.
It was about Russian Imperialism.
As for the arms sales angle, history tells us your assertion in horseshit.
Non-US NATO spending as a % of GDP dropped by half during the period NATO expanded. Arms sales radically DECREASED within NATO at this time.
The US initially resisted accepting new nations into NATO following the implosion of the USSR.
Hence the sudden increase in requirements to join post 1991.
Expansion occurred primarily for two reasons:
- To prevent nuclear proliferation
- Recognition that Poland, et al. would join at any cost.
When your statements are easily refuted by historical facts, the fault is not with the facts, Kiddo.

NATO is a voluntary, defensive alliance created and expanded in response to Russian aggression. Russia is the only recruiter NATO has ever needed.
Russia invaded Afghanistan in order to absorb it into their greater empire. The US overthrew the Taliban and attempted to foster a non-hostile government in Afghanistan in response to terrorist attacks originating from Afghanistan.
Three Mile Island was not even remotely similar to Chernobyl.
