The whole fiasco is stupid. We are Indian where we have a billion languages, we, in our lifetimes, listen to music and watch films from at least 35-40 other languages. I regularly listen to music from at least five languages I don't fully understand. People listen to Kpop for god sake.

He’s scoring 1.30 (!!) pts per isos. Not only is he better than Simons, but he's better than anyone else in the league.

Hard agree on this. The geometry of the court will definitely be different both in short term and long term, and I'm really skeptical on his fit long term. I'm just at the point with Brad that I'd trust him with my family's life. We'll have to wait and see. Time will tell.

100%. Scoring is not going to 1:1 between anferno, and a above average shooting big. And also agreed on Tatum being the X factor.

Agree on if Vuc is the best fit for us even if we needed a big (I really trust Brad, the talent evaluator and GM), but I can see why we traded away Simons, cause long term, I doubt we'd need much more scoring than we have already. Short term, I think we'll miss his scoring sorely.

By unique contract situation, I mean a big expiring salary that can be a vehicle for a competent big.

Simons becomes more expendable in a world where we have two good iso scorers plus PP and DWhite. Also, all this was not considering the unique contract situation he was in, with a $27M expiring, where I doubt we'll have avenues to get a big if he resigns next year for a MLE or just leaves.

We know that there will be fewer shots to go around once our leading shot taker comes back, and we for sure know that we need at least one more competent big man. Now, is Vuc that ideal "big man"? It's hard to know until we see it on the court with Tatum, even though I have gripes about his defense.

I mean, the franchise is more than this season. If Tatum isn't a 100%, there no point is gunning for second round exit. Having a long-er point of view is a defend-able choice, regardless of agreeing on if Vuc is the right guy or not. Moreover, Hauser and Vuc and fits better with a healthy full team.

This is exactly my justification for the trade. Did we need a center? Yes. What would we rather give up for that: Simons, or Hauser? I think Simons might be more expendable thinking long term.
