After you get used to the writing style, the book was enjoyable. The author does a good job describing emotions, but the main characters definitely need heart to heart. It would have solved 80% of their problems.

I have to say though, it was really jarring having a character explain to a woman how he isn't going to be physical with her because she's drunk, only to follow it up with multiple women kissing an unconscious man and playing it off as a joke.

I have like so much beef with the amount of modern shows that want to seem progressive but still treat male SA/trauma like its a joke I could write a whole book on it LOL.

Update: I’ve sent all the money I can afford to right now directly to my sister in St. Ann’s Bay & a friend whose entire garage blew away. My sister in Gayle (St. Mary’s) has still not been heard from. I’ve only been able to find one video on TikTok showing St. Mary’s, but not Gayle specifically.
