10.02.2026 16:13 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Good morning, friends! Today is a gorgeous Tuesday, and also... my brother's birthday! Whoa! Him getting a year older makes ME feel old for some reason... have a great day, and remember to hydrate!!

10.02.2026 02:41 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 1the only reason imo i think it isnt a psuedo is because they couldn't think of a middle stage, which imo is super easy, just a flaming cocoon would be fine, but bc of that it's only given a BST of 550 which is below the typical requirement for one of 600
10.02.2026 11:36 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0i havent watched the anime so i don't know, but i wouldn't be surprised
but the pokedex entries for volcarona and larvesta give it some really cool worldbuilding, and don't feel exaggerated because it's legends claiming it and not the pokedex itself
literally the most cool non unique-labelled pokemon of all time
sure psuedo-legendaries are cool, but volcarona isnt one, they're just like any other pokemon, and despite that have some of the most awesome mythology behind it more iconic then psuedos imo
evolving two volcarona would also be rough.. curse you unova evolution level...

10.02.2026 02:29 โ ๐ 7 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 4 ๐ 0Tl;dr: The vast majority of adults will never have to interact with our age assurance systems and their experience won't change, because we know Discord and how people use it, so we're designing to respect privacy and deliver a safer experience while minimizing friction for adults. Hey folks โ Iโve been on Discord since very early 2016 and actually joined the company in 2017. Safety is one of my areas, so todayโs announcement on our blog is something Iโve been pretty involved with. Iโve always cared about Discord's approach to privacy (E2EE for A/V was another of my projects here), so I figured Iโd add some more context to today's news. I can say confidently that the vast majority of people will never see age verification. I say this because we launched age assurance in the UK and Australia in 2025, and we have some pretty good data on this now. The idea here is that we can pre-identify most adults based on what we already know (not including your messages!), and that looks to get us pretty far here. No face scans, no IDs, for the vast majority of adults.
And if you are one of the smaller subset of folks that we can't definitively pre-identify, then still, you only have to do it if you're accessing age-restricted servers or channels, or changing certain settings. That's really not most users. (Altho... might be more Redditors, tbh.) Last, I know that there is concern about privacy and data leaks. That's a real concern. The selfie system is built purely client-side, it never leaves your device, and we did that intentionally. That'll work for a bunch of users who aren't pre-identified as adults. But if you do end up in the ID bucket, then yeah, you're right that has some risk. We're doing what we can to minimize this by working with our range of partners (who are different partners than the data leak you read about), and if it's any help, we learned a lot internally from the last issue. But I get if that doesn't necessarily inspire more confidence. Anyway, weโll be sharing more next month as we get closer to the global roll out about the system, including the technology behind it in March. I honestly wouldn't be happy if we didn't build something good and I am excited about what weโre launching, but please let us know what you think when we share more details. And I really appreciate everybody's feedback here today. Weโre definitely reading it!
Discord is already starting to walk things back a little, so people should keep doing what they're doing (cancel Nitro, leave feedback/criticism, direct contact through support tickets/phone/email/etc)

10.02.2026 01:56 โ ๐ 8 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Leo D. Sullivan (1940-2023)
Beany and Cecil (Bob Clampett Productions, 1962), the first series Leo D. Sullivan worked on moving from cel polisher to artist to animator. He worked on dozens of series for various studios for 60 years, including Hanna-Barbera, Filmation, DIC, Marvel, and Warner Bros.
Hey, Hey, Hey, it's Fat Albert (Vignette Films, 1969) Leo D. Sullivan co-founded Vignette Films in 1966, along with Floyd Norman, Richard Allen, and Norm Edelen. As the first Black-owned animation studio, Vignette worked on various projects including a series dedicated to Black history and an adaptation of comedian Bill Cosby's stories about his childhood and one football game involving a kid lovingly named Fat Albert. Mr. Sullivan would also work on 1972's Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids for Filmation.
Soul Train (Don Cornelius Productions, 1971). The very first incarnation of the Soul Train was animated by Leo Sullivan. While not the familiar design most generations know (that was created by James Smith, who I'll talk about later), this incarnation of the Soul Train had character, power, and, of course, soul.
You ought to know Leo D. Sullivan, a pioneering animator who worked on iconic shows like Beany and Cecil, Fat Albert, The Flintstones, Scooby-Doo, Transformers, My Little Pony, Tiny Toon Adventures, and Animaniacs and inspired & guided generations of animators. A great legacy.

Floyd Norman (1935-)
The Jungle Book (1967). After seeing some personal character drawings he made at the studio, Walt Disney handpicked Floyd Norman to help develop the story for the animated film, the last Disney worked on personally.
Godzilla (Hanna-Barbera, 1978). After leaving Disney, Norman did lots of work as an animator, director, and layout artist on many Saturday morning shows, including Godzilla, where he was the key layout artist, and The Smurfs, where he served many roles, including directing a few episodes.
Monsters Inc. (Pixar, 2001), one of many Disney films Floyd Norman worked on when he returned to the studio in the mid-1990s. Others include The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Mulan, which he helped developed the stories of both, Toy Story 2, and Dinosaur.
You ought to know Floyd Norman, one of the first Black animators hired by Walt Disney and veteran layout and storyman at many studios, including Hanna-Barbera, Ruby-Spears, and DIC, working on projects from Sleeping Beauty to Robot Chicken. A true icon and a Disney Legend.
