Took a few of my hens for a walk to the front yard. Here is Duchess, supremely affronted by the harness. (I'm in city with small-ish lot sizes and many local dogs so no free ranging at my house)

You leash Duchess? How dare you, madam. How. Dare.

Although... grass. Hmmm. Perhaps I may forgive the insult.

A second glance corrected my misread, but that was a very confusing moment when I thought the article was talking about banning PEAS 🫛🤣

I feel the weekend's harness test set a precedent in little feathery brains. Benny now knows she can Wander Outside and hopped out of the enclosure gate 3x while I tried to get in to take care of them. This area of the city has a bajillion dogs and cats, girls, you CANNOT just free range 🐔

Uuggghhhh I am the absolute perfect level of comfort in my bed, both temperature and body position. Alas, that was the second alarm so I need to actually get up now 😞

Slowly improving my harvest workflow. Good news for me, seeing as it took almost all day to fill my orders and I'm still under 1/5 what I need to actually support my family. Emailed the local farmers market to get info about booking a table too. Progress is progress 🌱💚🇨🇦

Got 4 of my girls out on an adventure today. They were all very wary of the harness but in my narrow lot neighbourhood with lots of dogs this is the only way they can roam safely.

I just made the planting list from my order window cutoff and I've reached a new record AND will need to use a 4th shelf on the rack! Growing my 🌱 growing business 💚

Two days ago it was so cold my car wouldn't start. This afternoon I sat on the back porch in just a sweater to sift the mealworm bins. My hens appreciated the warmer weather AND the fresh wiggly snacks

My heated chicken waterer was on the fritz but it's working again!

Cozy chicken hangout time

Just gave my backyard hens the week's used sprouting soil and got my daily eggs. It's a great trade agreement 🌱💚🐔🥚

Yesterday was the first time I had to reload the cooler between delivery runs because it was too full for all orders at once. 💚🌱

Remembered to pour my second cup BEFORE the coffeemaker timed out and turned off automatically. I am on fire today
