That said, these techniques promote meta knowledge and gives a more "gamey" feeling to the system. Shuffling also has to be timed to the game's low points.

So yeah, it is a mechanic I think is worth considering when making a system, if even just partially like a dungeon generator, but usually not.

There's ways to manipulate the timing as well, such as adding cards after certain points or doing a special pile shuffle. You can go further with removing more cards from the deck, like drawing multiples at once and not returning unused cards.

I've played a few homebrewed solo TTRPGs that used a standard poker deck and they can be fun, but it greatly depends on the game you want. I found it fun when you want certain values to come up eventually but otherwise randomly.

What about those who unironically like Logan Paul's Japan video? (But otherwise, yeah, most of the judgement seems to be more about ratting out "problematic" people so that they can show that they aren't.)

I've had 3 tech recruiters in a span of a week reaching out about a possible position. While two are contracts and one might be the same position as another, it has been a change of pace with one actually looking promising. Hopefully this is a sign that the tech industry is healing.

Though I think in some cases it ends up helping. Now the Oracle can declare Cure as their Signature Spell and get an extra spell for the other levels.

The purpose for this is to reduce the spell list to have only one Cure spell instead of Light/Moderate/etc. every odd levels. While this still gives spontaneous casters a bad deal, they also get more spell slots and now enjoy getting spells at the same rate as prepared.

Are you aware of "Signature Spells" class feature? For each spell rank, you can choose a spell of that rank (else that has a heightened version in that rank) and use whatever you want for free. So choosing Slow as a Signature Spell means you can freely cast the 7th level version ASAP for free.

I really need to play Colostle someday, especially since it uses a deck of cards and I've been wanting to see more uses for that. But life always gets in the way for some reason or another.

On the bright side, the game did register it as a valid lap at 8:55 so I have some kind of proof.

Figured out the recording issue. The resolution in the video settings is what the monitor displays and I have a super wide monitor so the resolution was way too wide. OBS was also recording the far left edge with everything else cut off. I *think* I got it fixed, though I should do a test recording.

So good news and bad news.
Good news: I believe I've now gotten under 9 mins. on the Nürburgring in ACC despite constant mistakes thanks to VR.
Bad news: guess what the preview screen, which was recorded, showed? Sure as heck not what I was looking at. So I get to figure this out.

Magus has been my biggest delight, even enjoying most of the OG subclasses. I have been interested in the Guardian (essentially the class for the first character I wanted to play in a TTRPG ever,) Thaumaturge, and Demoralize Swashbuckler, though I need a good group & campaign for them.

(Grant, I've had good luck in just reading cover to cover most of the time. I think only Pathfinder 1e & 2.0e required me to jump around.)

I have a weird system that involves understanding what the game is about then figure out from there. But usually, I make a character first and learn all of the parts to them then try to figure out the rules, starting with the most commonly used stuff.

On a slightly warmer side, I have been looking at houses currently on the market as well and have been figuring out what I want and don't want. I'm thinking if a job offer is getting really close, I need to write down a list for a real estate agent as to what I'm looking for and why.

I don't know if its a yearning for novelty, the desire to get away from a place filled with bad memories, wanting a new place that my parents don't get a decision in, or a combination of the three. I just know I want to be elsewhere.

But in seriousness, I'm kind of ready to move. I even told my sister that if I get a remote job, I'll still be looking to move somewhere else. Part of it is career insurance as the tech industry is requiring people in the office, but the other part is that I'm just tired of the place where I am.

So due to (a lack of) work, I might be moving to a new city. And since an apartment doesn't seem appealing for various reasons, I've been looking at houses and learning what I probably like.

I also need to go through my stuff and figure out what to get rid of and how.

The only case I know of where I might go for nuance is if said antagonists represents a real world group, especially a political group. But I rather avoid that situation because I still don't like the idea of politics in TTRPGs outside of the right table.

Simple. I'll have a layer to explain why they have their motivations, but I rarely find it worthwhile to give them complexity. So they might be a zealot, greedy, or influenced by pure evil. Better to put the effort in making them fun (whatever that looks like) as I find that leaves an impression.

Ironsworn is pretty popular for a reason. Basically a low-magic fantasy that does good to teach you good solo TTRPG practices.

Mythic also helps playing some group games solo, though mind the crunchy games.

I don't know, maybe I'm making a mountain out of an anthill. I could probably try and design 3 houses: bachelor pad; master bedroom with a man/woman cave; him/hers bedrooms in case said fictional wife can't share a bed with anyone (random idea I had when figuring out what her needs might be.)

I know life might throw a curve ball at me and I'll be forced to move, which may give me a chance to at least live in something closer to what I might actually need (mainly something smaller,) but that would almost certainly be a quick "grab what's decent and available to move in a month."

And another problem is that I hate the cookie-cutter houses in the US and just about every trend I've seen for the past 10+ years. But those houses are actually bought and loved where anything that's odd struggles to sell. Yet I yearn to live in a house I love.

But the problem there is I don't know if I would end up marrying someone and there isn't really a point in life where you can say "okay, I shouldn't bother waiting on someone to show up because they're clearly not coming." I know one guy who married at ~22 and another at 40.
