I was born in Cbr too. But in winter youโ€™ll find me rugged up in layers, with uggies, and sitting very close to a heater.

Poor Prince Edward, taking the blame for brother Andrew. Iโ€™m sure he has many failings but being handsy and liking teen girls too much, isnโ€™t among them.

Penny Wong accidentally saying the quiet bit out loud - for Labor the US relationship is more important than the Australian environment. Who do this lot think they work for?

Iโ€™ve been to arms fairs where companies like Elbit sell their weapons as โ€œbattle testedโ€ on people in Gaza, Lebanon and Yemen. They show snuff videos as a sales pitch to the Australian Government, and to their shame the Albanese seems to be convinced.

Artists rejoice as Labor rules out copyright carve-out for AI Labor has ruled out changing copyright laws to give tech giants free rein to train artificial intelligence models on creative works, after the proposition was met with widespread backlash from artists...

Australian artists, journalists, authors and researchers create the stories and knowledge that shapes who we are as a nation.

If AI companies want access to their work, they should have to negotiate with copyright holders like anyone else.

Yes, I tried zooming, in several different browsers on PC. Names are there in the phone app.
But they seem to have fixed it since I wrote my OP - it's now working in browsers too. I put in a complaint but of course it wasn't acted upon over weekend. How stupid to launch a new site on a Friday.

โ€˜Absurdist leaps of logicโ€™: Robodebt misused in FOI reforms I am furious. Angry, certainly, about the federal governmentโ€™s proposed freedom of information laws, which mock the very idea of transparency, but seething especially about the justification for them,...

Yep. When I left Murdoch and became a (then) unemployed freelancer, yes, I went on 'the dole' for a while.

I had to sign up for a Sarina Russo job agency and meet the mutual obligations crap. So we saw an opportunity to both 'flip the script' and continue being a journo.

Burke gets Netflixed. Secret lobbying did the trick for the big streamers - Michael West Arts Minister Tony Burke promised we'd have Aussie content on our streamed TV services like Netflix. But heโ€™s done nothing except block FOIs

Good story from @mrrexpatrick.bsky.social on @michaelwest.com.au.web.brid.gy on the Government's broken promises on Australian content quotas & the diabolical impact on our local screen industry.

Are there any multi-nationals to which this Govt won't capitulate?

End all funding every single private employment services provider.

Salt the earth so those in change of them never get any public money ever again - run them out of the country.

Get rid of mutual obligations

Bring back the CES

Raise the fricken rate

Ainโ€™t hard.
