A fucking stone cold genius... raw rhythm and blues with great lyrics in popular song, it is fucking hard to do and he was a master. I never really understood how to play rock n roll till I spent a couple of years practicing along with Chuck Berry records every day. Thank you for posting.

And of course that is one of Springsteen's great talents, making real the character of the people in his songs. To see that grow and change in the breadth of his own interpretations of 'Born in the USA' over the years is one of the great joys of being a Springsteen fan.
