We still have each other, and there are a lot of us. The support, care, and love we give to each other now and in the tough battles ahead will be our fortress. Gather people, build bridges, have conversations, and assemble your own fortress. From our fortresses, we will build our power and win.

My rosebushes took a beating from the storm since Tuesday, Nov 5th, and they are blooming today and have buds to bloom tomorrow.

A few weeks ago Socorro and I shared about everyday things that reminded us of our moms. For me it was the auburn glow of fall because this is the season when all the flowers turn crispy and all the trees glow. They match my moms famously warm mane. Also, this is the time of the year when our moms, our life, left us.

Two days ago Socorro, Linda and I found this tall beauty calling us from the park trail we were skipping through.

They are truly everywhere, and also not. Our yearning is the between and after and before. Our souls shed each day the ideas of our former interwoven identity, with the hope of pushing out something different, maybe improved but in the least, consistent.

So go the trees and so go the leaves.
