If the U.S. government is going to take the position that, once removed from the United States, folks canโt be brought back, then it sure seems to me that federal courts should be reflexively and categorically barring *all* removals until theyโre 100 percent certain that the removals are lawful.

21.01.2025 15:47 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I find it interesting that we have not heard a peep from republican members of Congress, both hiuse and senate, about TikTok running without a sign 90 day extention or the announcement of a buyer which is necessary. Sen. Cotton, any remarks?
19.01.2025 23:50 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0To those who met me on Tik Tok, thank you for making my life what it is today because of that app.
You have enriched my life in ways I could never explain. And I will forever be grateful for you.
I thought it was political theatre from the moment Trump did a 180 and supported saying tiktoc. He never does that unless it benefits him.

He is talking to school kids saying ...AND REMEMBER, BOYS AND GIRLS, YOUR SCHOOL - LIKE OUR COUNTRY-IS MADE UP OF AMERICANS OF MANY DIFFERENT RACES. RELIGIONS AND NATIONAL ORIGINS. 50... ..if YOU hear anybody talk against a schoolmate or anyone else because of his religion, race or national origin-don't wait: tell him THAT KIND OF TALK IS UN-AMERICAN.
Hey America. Just saying.

The TikTok ban feels nothing more than like a stunt. Playing with the livelihoods of 170 million Americans was never the answer. My thoughts in this special, mid-day newsletter. open.substack.com/pub/aaronpar...

19.01.2025 14:16 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I finally realized what bugs me about the TikTok notice: itโs not that Trump may save it, itโs the โwe need his permissionโ vibe. It feels very Handmaidโs Tale. I donโt need permission to post on a social platform. TikTok, youโre starting to feel like a bad place. Never OfTrump

19.01.2025 04:05 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0True, but I extremely rarely refer to anything like those mentioned by a particular president's name since I know it takes more than one person to pass and uphold legislation. (Well, except Reaganomics, and only sometimes.) Guess I am weird that way
19.01.2025 04:05 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Nor should he, but with such bipartisan support to.pass the legislation in the Congess and a Uniamnious SCOTUS Opinion to support, it is the whole.ofnthe government, not just Biden. That tradition doesn't apply.
19.01.2025 03:56 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This is not Biden's tiktok ban. This whole process began July of 2020 with Trump saying he wanted to ban it and MAGA and Freedom Caucus latching on. In the end, it turned out the whole federal government wanted it. Biden played his role, just like Congress, and just like SCOTUS.
19.01.2025 03:51 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0This wasn't just Biden. Sure, he was a part of it, and I give him his share of the blame. This was the whole of the federal government, and this whole thing started with Trump wanting to ban tiktok in July 2020.
